Install Rubber Bulb Seal:Please read through the instructions entirely before attempting installation. This will you save you the hassle of having to go back a step and will give you an understanding of how the whole tonneau cover mounts to your truck bed. 1. Unroll the rubber bulb seal. Do not remove the paper backing at this time. You can remove it little by little as you apply it in the steps below. 2. Make sure the area where the rubber seal will go is wiped absolutely clean of all grease and fingerprints. We recommend Isopropyl alcohol, but any non-residue degreaser will work. It is very important that the area where the rubber bulb seal will be applied is clean or the adhesive will not hold for very long! 3. Let's install the rubber bulb seal: Start at the front of the tonneau cover and peel back the paper a little bit and put the bulb seal on about 1/4" inside of the bond line as shown in the picture below: (ALL pictures here can be enlarged by clicking them!) Don't worry about whether or not the end is cut smooth or not, we'll address that later. 4. Start applying the rubber seal around the tonneau cover, peeling back the paper to expose the adhesive about 1-2 feet at a time. Notice you will need to go OVER the male hinge: 5. As seen in the pictures above, you turn the corner a little sharp. Don't try to turn it too sharply, or you will kink the bulb seal. 6. Finish going all the way around the tonneau cover to the place you started. Overlap the two ends and cut through both of them and you will then have a 'perfect' match for the ends. (Picture below) |
